December 30 @ approx. 11:00 p.m.
Company 50, Rescue 54 & Medic 1047 were dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 352 & Glen Riddle Rd., for a motor vehicle accident. Chief Walter "Sonny" Strohl arrived on location to find a two vehicle accident with all occupants out of the vehicles. The patients were attended to by EMS while crews from Rescue 54 and Company 50 cleaned up fluid spills from the vehicles with oil dry. E502 remained on the scene for approx. 1 hour.


December 17 @ 9:08 p.m.
Companies 50, 54, 69, Rescue 72, were dispatched to the 400 block of Pine Brook Drive in Middletown Twp (CO 50's Local) for a dwelling fire. Chief Walter "Sonny" Strohl arrived reporting heavy fire from the front of the 2 story wood frame structure. TS50 led off with two 1-3/4 attack lines and made a quick knockdown of the fire on the facade of the structure, then checked for extension on the interior. Engine 692 and Truck 69 were assigned primary search and ventilation respectively. Eng 541 laid approx. 1200ft of 5" supply line to the scene. Rescue 72's crew assisted in extensive overhaul of the facade and interior. Co. 57 was dispatched for the R. I. T. Team (Rapid Intervention Team) and Marcus Hook Fire Dept. Eng. Co. 32 was dispatched to the scene then returned to station 50 to cover until units were restored. (Chester Heights) Airbank 71 was called, (Feltonville) Canteen 47 also responded to provide refreshments. The Cause and Origin is under investigation by the Middletown Township Fire Marshal Jack McKeown and PSP Fire Marshal Trp Bob Dodge. Company 50 remained on the scene until approx. 2:30AM assisting with the investigation.

December 11 @ 1:53 p.m.
Station 50 was called to duty for a residential house fire to the 800 block of Ridley Creek Drive. Lima Fire Company was first to arrive on the scene and took the hydrant across from the house, with Telesqurt-50 arriving right behind. A hand line was stretched from Telesqurt-50 and taken to the basement for what turned out to be a dryer fire. A few minutes later extinguishers were called to put out the fire, saving the home from the flames, but also keeping water damage to a minimum. Ventilation and overhaul was handled by Green Ridge and Lenni Fire Companies. The dryer fire was placed under control by 50-9A 15 minutes later. Medic 23 and Township Fire Marshall, Jack McKeown, were also on location. All companies were placed back in service. Total time on the job was 45 minutes.


   

December 5 @ 10:00 a.m.
Motor vehicle accident 400 Block of S. New Middletown Rd. (Rt. 352) at approx. 10:00 a.m. Co. 50, Rescue 54, Engine 69, Medic 1047 and Rescue 72 were dispatched to an accident with entrapment. Chief Walter "Sonny" Strohl arrived on location with a vehicle, over the embankment with the single occupant ejected from the vehicle. The car traveling North on Rt. 352 apparently left the roadway overturned, hit a guard rail then landed down the embankment. The single passenger was pronounced at the scene. Companies assisted the County Medical Examiner and tow Company. The cause of the accident was under investigation by the PSP (Pennsylvania State Police). Companies were on the scene for approx. 2-1/2 Hours.

   

November 22 @ 12:00 a.m.
Companies 50, 54, 60, TRK63 were dispatched at approx. 12:00 Midnight for a dwelling fire on the 100 block of East Knowlton Rd, Middletown Township (50's) Local, 509A Deputy Chief Bill Rigby arrived on location and reported Heavy smoke showing from a single story dwelling, TS50 deployed 1-3/4 Lines to the kitchen area and knocked down the fire quickly, TRK 63 ventilated the structure, while E502 stretched approx. 1600ft of 5" supply line, Engine and TRK 69 and Company 54 assisted with ventilation, overhaul and restoring equipment, The fire originated from unattended cooking. There was heavy smoke damage throughout the structure.
