30, 2003 @ 1:59 p.m. Companies
(50) Middletown, (54) Lenni Heights, (69) Lima and (M1047) were dispatched to
519 South Old Middletown Rd. (Middletown) for an automobile fire next to a dwelling.
E502 with Captain 50, Frank Williams, arrived on the scene to find an engine compartment
involved. The automobile was quickly extinguished with a 1-3/4" line. Units
remained on the scene for 20 minutes.
August 28, 2003 @ 4:27 p.m.
Companies
(50) Middletown, (54) Lenni Heights, (AMB69) were dispatched to Rt.
352 & Glen Riddle Rd. (Middletown) for a Motor Vehicle Accident.
(502) with Captain 50, Frank Williams, arrived on the scene and found
a two vehicle MVA with all occupants out of the vehicles. Firefighters
used oil dry to contain spilled fluids & EMS Units attended to
the two occupants who both refused transport. Companies remained on
the scene for approx. 1 hour until the vehicles were removed.

Fireworks
at Sun Valley High School
June 22, 2003 @ 12:55 p.m.
Motor
vehicle accident on Knowlton Road at Ridley Creek. Jeep Wrangler
meets Dodge Ram. The two Chrysler products met and ended up 50 yards
apart. There were no injuries in this accident, but plenty of oil
on the roadway. Knowlton Road was closed for approximately one hour
for the clean-up. Notice the drive shaft sticking out of the ground
behind the Dodge. Rescue 54 was also on location.

April 12, 2003 @ 1:00 p.m.

(50) Middletown, "Highmeadow Development": The annual
Easter Egg Hunt was held under beautiful weather conditions after
a soggy Friday Night and early AM Saturday. Members and E502 provided
"Fire Engine" rides for residents the engine arrived a
few minutes late due to a fire call. Residents were given a ride
on the new Middletown Engine through the Highmeadow Development.
As always we thank the residents of the development for their continued
support. We hope to see all the residents at our housing on May
3, 2003.

April 12, 2003 @ 2:00 p.m.
Company
(50) Middletown assisted the Township Parks and Recreation
Dept and numerous Penncrest students giving "Community
Service Time" in hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt.
The weather at the start time was sunny and warm however the
previous heavy rains made it necessary to move the hunt from
Indian Lane School field to the Middletown Fire Station and
adjacent lot. Members assisted and were ready to do the annual
transport of the Easter Bunny to Indian Lane if requested.
A good time was had by all.
April 06, 2003 5:32 a.m.
A call was received
for 340 North Middletown Road, Fair Acres Bldg. 18, Administration
Bldg., (Middletown Township). Reported as a fire alarm, Companies
(69) Lima's Local, (54) Lenni Heights, (50) Middletown (M1047) responded.
Chief (69) Paul Bradfield arrived to find a small fire in an office
on the 1st floor "that was contained by an Automatic Sprinkler
System". Co. 69 and 50 secured the sprinkler system and installed
a wedge to stop water from doing further damage on the first floor
office. It appeared that a candle was left lit, which caused the fire.
A single sprinkler head made short work of this fire and the companies
remained on the scene for approximately 45 minutes at which time the
investigation was turned over to the Fair Acres Fire & Safety
Dept. "Dewey Smith".
April 6, 2003 @ 4:05 a.m.
Companies
(50) Middletown, (54) Lenni Heights, (63) Green Ridge, (52) Brookhaven
and (M1047) were dispatched to the 700 Block of Chester Creek Road
(Middletown Twp.) (50's) local, for a Motor Vehicle Accident, overturned.
Chief "Sonny" Strohl and first units on the scene found
all occupants out of the vehicle. The occupants were transported
by Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) to the Hospital. Fire & EMS
Units stood by on the scene and assisted PSP and tow company with
lighting. Oil dry was used to contain spilled fluids from the vehicle.
Companies remained on the scene for approx. 1 hour. This accident
was within 50 ft. of the fatal on April 2, 2003.
April 2, 2003 @ approx. 9:09 p.m.
Companies
(50) Middletown, (54) Lenni Heights, (52) Brookhaven and (M1047)
were dispatched to the 700 Block of Chester Creek Road for a motor
vehicle accident, reported vehicle into the creek. (509) Chief "Sonny"
Strohl and first units on the scene found a single victim that was
apparently ejected from the vehicle before it came to rest on its
side in the Creek. The single occupant was pronounced at the scene.
Fire & Ems Units stood by on the scene and assisted (PSP) Pennsylvania
State Police & County ME with lighting. Companies remained on
the scene for approximately three hours.

March 23, 2003 @ 1:45
a.m.
Companies
(69) Lima (69's) First Due area, (54) Lenni Heights, (50) Middletown,
(73) Rose Tree, (72) Aston Beechwood, and (M1047) Middletown Township,
were dispatched to: 134 Barren Rd at the Rose Tree Media Bus Garage
for a building fire. First arriving units and Lt. F. Kimmel found
a 30 x 30 masonry structure with a wood frame roof, known as the
"field house" fully involved. The initial water supply
yard hydrant was found out of service and inoperable. E502 diverted
and laid a 5" supply line to the hydrant on Barren Rd by
the Main Entrance for water. TS50's 5" line was hit by another
company's engine from the TWP and entangled in-between the dual
tires. Two CO50 Firefighters were injured, one by the entangled
hose and the other CO50 Firefighter received a minor sprain\strain
to the foot\ankle and is fully recovered. As of this date, the
severely injured CO50 Firefighter who is a self-employed volunteer,
is totally disabled with a full leg cast and is looking at months,
maybe (6) or more, to heal. The "dry" inoperable hydrant
caused a severe delay in establishing a water supply. Company
50 was back at station at 3:37 a.m. and then had to restore their
apparatus.
March 21, 2003 @ 3:30 p.m.
Companies
(50) Middletown (54) and Lenni Heights (M1047) were dispatched
to the 200 Block of Glen Riddle Rd for a motor vehicle accident
reported overturned. Middletown (50) Chief "Sonny" Strohl
and arriving units found one vehicle overturned with no occupants
at the scene. 50 & 54 secured the vehicle and returned within
1 hour.
Middletown Township House Fire, During
Height of Blizzard
February 16, 2003 @ 5:16 p.m.
Companies (69) Lima, (54) Lenni Heights, (50) Middletown and (63)Green
Ridge were dispatched to 30 Paul Lane for a building fire. Units
were hampered by heavy snow during their response. First arriving
units reported heavy fire showing from an attached garage. An aggressive
attack avoided further damage to the rest of the structure. Units
were on location for several hours. Telesqurt50, Engine 502, Engine
501, and Unit 508 with plow, responded from Middletown Station (50).
After returning
from a working house fire, Middletown volunteers worked to restore
equipment used and thaw out the frozen apparatus.
The rest
of the 16th and into the 17th Crews manned the Fire Station, working
hard on keeping the driveways open and available for response.

Crew from Middletown (50) try to locate and dig out buried fire hydrants.
Again we plead with residents to use the "Adopt-A-Hydrant"
Program in order to assist the Fire Department in helping you
and your neighbors if the need arrives. A special thanks goes out
to the members who stayed at the Fire Station to protect the residents
of Middletown Township.
January 4, 2003 @ 1:12 a.m.
Company 50,
Rescue 54 and 1047 were dispatched to the 300 blk of Mount Alverno
Road, arriving companies found the correct address in the 600 blk
of Mount Alverno Road. The single occupant was out of the vehicle
upon arrival. Driver refused medical treatment. Companies remained
on the scene for approx 1 hour until the hazard was removed.
