SPILL UNIT 50
The Middletown Fire Company No. 1 recently took delivery of a 16-ft. wells cargo trailer to be used primarily as a spill control unit. The unit is in service as SPILL 50 and can be transported by unit 508.
This unit was received in July 2002, and is in service. Equipment carried are 2-Overpack Drums for, booms, pigs and (60)- 40# bags of oil dry absorbent for hydrocarbon spills, tyvek suits, chemical resistant boots and gloves. The intent of this unit is to mitigate or contain spills. It is not a HAZ MAT unit. This unit was purchased and is owned by the Middletown Fire Company No. 1.
